Moyes insisted the negativity from the window's conclusion did not affect his players. "It was the exact opposite," he said. The manager acknowledged the challenge ahead with a thinner squad, especially with midfielder Christian Nørgaard currently sidelined, but stressed everyone would have to be ready.
Player ratings highlighted a mixed performance from the Everton side. Jordan Pickford was given a 5.5 after misjudging Sesko's headed goal, while James Tarkowski earned a 6 for a key goal-saving tackle earlier in the match. The hero of the hour, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, was introduced in the 77th minute after James Garner suffered from cramp and made an instant impact.
