Everton know exactly how to convince Iliman Ndiaye of their ambition, he may not like it. The Senegal star's contract expires in 2029, but the Blues are keen to reward him with fresh terms. However, the 26-year-old has rejected multiple offers for a new deal, per a report from The Athletic on 2 June. The lack of progress is primarily due to the club's reluctance to include a release clause, but he may also feel that his ambitions are not being matched. Everton can make him feel better about that, by doing one simple thing. Ndiaye may well push for an Everton exit this summer as a result of the impasse. However, if the Toffees want to convince him that they are ambitious, they need to reject any offers that they receive for the contract rebel. Letting him leave would prove the lack of ambition idea right, and that he was justified in seeking a transfer in the first place. The Blues can afford to keep hold of their star man, as they are not under any pressure to sell. He is contracted until 2029, and there is no release clause in the deal, so they can literally hold him to his contract. The Friedkin Group have ambitions to take the L3 outfit back into Europe, and to do that, they need Ndiaye to still be at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the foreseeable future. They need to surround the Africa Cup of Nations winner with players of a similar calibre and build the team around him, rather than bowing to his demands. Ndiaye notched six goals and three assists, and with more elite players around him, those numbers will surely only increase. In an ideal world, he would be handed a new contract that reflects how much he deserves to be paid, but if he does not want to sign, then so be it. The Toffees can still benefit from his services and have more room in the wage budget for new signings, or they can ensure that their best player is happy and paid what he is worth. It is a win-win situation for the Blues.
