Everton have rebuffed £70 million bids for Iliman Ndiaye, with former Blues hero Anders Limpar declaring such offers 'not interesting enough' for the club. The 26-year-old winger, who scored Everton’s last goal at Goodison Park and first at Hill Dickinson Stadium, remains a key asset despite contract uncertainty.
Why Everton won’t sell Ndiaye
Limpar, the 1995 FA Cup winner, argued that Ndiaye’s value lies beyond transfer fees. 'If offers come in for £60-70 million, that’s not interesting enough for Everton,' he said. 'They could make the same return by qualifying for Europe or winning a cup.' The club, finishing 13th last season (49 points, 13W-10D-15L), sees Ndiaye as pivotal to their ambitions.
Saudi interest dismissed
Al Hilal’s reported interest was rejected by Ndiaye’s father, who said his son prioritises career over money. Limpar agreed: 'Why go to Saudi Arabia at 26? You go when you’re 36.' The winger’s focus remains on Everton, with pre-season training underway ahead of their next fixture vs Sunderland (away, 2027-02-20).
Limpar’s advice: Sign Grealish
The Swedish legend suggested Everton solve Ndiaye’s future by signing Jack Grealish. 'They are both Everton players, to me,' Limpar said. 'Selling your best players is never the answer.'
