Everton are among the clubs showing an interest in signing Burnley striker Zian Flemming, according to GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs. The Toffees have had a decent summer window so far, making Merlin Rohl and Tyrique George's loan moves permanent, while they have also completed deals to bring in Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough, Christian Norgaard from Arsenal, and a swap deal that saw Brennan Johnson arrive from Crystal Palace, with Dwight McNeil going in the opposite direction. But the club are still looking to be active in the final weeks of the window, and a reliable source of goals is something that David Moyes is understood to be keen on adding to his squad. It's understood that one option emerging on Merseyside is Burnley star Flemming, who scored twice in the club's weekend draw with West Ham, in their first game of the season following relegation in the last campaign. The Dutch striker netted 11 goals in 29 appearances in the Premier League despite the team dropping out of the division, with Scott Parker dubbing him 'incredible', and is now attracting interest from the Toffees, as well as clubs in Italy, France, and Holland. Burnley are hopeful of keeping the forward at the club as they look for an immediate return to the top-flight, having spent £7m to sign him from Millwall 12 months ago. Speaking after the 2-2 draw with West Ham, Burnley boss Nicky Hayden said that he is hopeful the 28-year-old will stay at least until January, but admitted he didn't know what would happen between now and the transfer window deadline. 'I'm really pleased with his performance and also the way he scores the penalty,' he said. 'He scored our second goal too and, of course, Zian is really important, not only with his goals, but also for the way he plays for us. 'I've said the way we play suits him so maybe it's the best choice for him to stay because he can be even more important than before and maybe wait for six-and-a-half months for the winter break because it can change every time. 'I'm aware of that, but I think he enjoys himself and that's the most important thing at the moment.' Everton currently don't have an abundance of attacking options in their squad, with Thierno Barry and Beto the only natural number nines within their roster. However, both players struggled to find the back of the net consistently last season, and Moyes is looking for ways to strengthen before the end of the window. Barry had been dealing with an injury for much of last season and playing through the pain, and the hope is that he can kick on. But Beto has struggled more since joining three seasons ago, and it may be that he has reached his level. Flemming is a good option with top-level experience and quality, and he could be a fine option if the price is right.
