Everton’s left-back Adam Aznou is on the radar at PSV Eindhoven this summer as the Dutch club hunt for defensive reinforcements. Hugo Bueno, the Wolves full-back, is also in the mix, according to Dutch reports.
Who’s on PSV’s list?
PSV’s technical director Earnest Stewart has Aznou ‘at the top of the list’ for a left-back replacement, per Voetbal Primeur and Eindhovens Dagblad. The 20-year-old arrived from Bayern Munich last year but spent most of the season out of Everton’s first team under Sean Dyche. Stewart isn’t treating him as his top target yet, though the reasons aren’t clear.
Bueno, 24, is another option. The Wolves man is valued at €12m and under contract until 2028. PSV have funds after selling Ismael Saibari, Armando Obispo and Adamo Nagalo, but whether they’ll pay for either defender remains up in the air.
Everton’s transfer dilemma
Aznou’s future at Everton is uncertain after just one appearance under Sean Dyche and none under David Moyes. The club’s recent form-three straight losses and five winless in six-adds pressure to offload fringe players. The Toffees sit 13th in the Premier League with 49 points from 38 games and a -3 goal difference.
PSV and Everton have history. Jarrad Branthwaite spent a season at PSV, returned, and became a first-choice centre-back under Moyes. A similar loan could help Aznou, but Moyes hasn’t given him a chance yet.
Wolves’ defensive depth
Bueno’s inclusion at PSV comes as Wolves bolster their own ranks. The club has two or three defensive targets lined up with the funds freed up by departures. Whether PSV pay €12m for Bueno-or pursue Aznou instead-will shape Everton’s summer exit strategy.
The Blues’ next fixture is away to Stoke City on 28 July 2026, a game that could arrive before any transfer wraps up. With three losses in a row and no wins in five, every decision counts for Moyes and his squad.
